Faith Journaling: A New Adventure

I love the idea of the faith journaling movement that is expanding in the scrapbook industry lately. I haven't been able to bring myself to actually journal in my Bible. I'm really afraid to mess it up because it was a gift from my grandmother. Instead, I decided to use a kraft notebook from Basic Grey as my faith journal. I may eventually journal in my actual Bible, but for now this works.

I created the cover of my journal by making a rainbow with gelatos. I covered each part of the rainbow with words by using coordinating alphabet stickers. Then I covered it all with a ton of Mod Podge so it would stay in place. It's working well so far!

I have only finished two pages inside of the journal at this point. This is the first one. I had a picture in my head when I read Deuteronomy 1:6, and I'm happy to say that I love the way it turned out. The mountains were drawn with watercolor color pencils and blended. I used mist and snowflake buttons to finish the design.

Sometimes we get stuck in a rut during day to day life. It's especially easy to stay in one place where we know it's safe, but that isn't what God asks us to do. While I was reading this passage, God brought one particular area of my life to mind where I've been stuck. (My mountain so to speak.) He reminded me that it's time to go.

If you have a faith journal please comment with a link to your blog. I'd love to stop by for a visit because I'm always looking for inspiration.

LOVE this! I could never journal in my Bible either, but a notebook is a great idea. What do the green numbers on the cover mean?

I dont do "faith" journaling, or religion (at all), but I understand the appeal...you're combining 2 things you have a passion for! It reminds me of Art Journaling!

WOW! What a great idea! I agree with you and Cindy - it would be very hard for me to journal in my Bible, but this extra notebook is just perfect1 And very creative and cool at the same time!!!
